Wholesale changes are on show for the Blues as Thomas Tuchel’s men take on West Ham United in a pivotal match for both sides vying for the fourth spot in the Premier League table.
Chelsea were last seen in action against Brighton in a game at Stamford Bridge in which they were held to a goalless stalemate by the visitors meaning that the Blues would hope to return to much-needed winning ways this time around.
Timo Werner comes into the XI, Kai Havertz drops down to the bench
It is one Germany international for another in the Chelsea starting attacking line with Timo Werner coming in for Kai Havertz who has not been at his goalscoring best of late for Chelsea.
Werner too has endured a pretty dry spell in front of the goal but with his recent inclusion, the former Leipzig man would hope to break his rough patch of form for the best when taking on the Hammers away from home territory.
Thiago Silva replaces Kurt Zouma, Azpilicuetta shifts to the wing-back role
Thomas Tuchel surprisingly decides to draft skipper Cesar Azpilicuetta at the right wing-back role ahead of usual starter Reece James with Callum Hudson-Odoi once again on the bench.
Azpilicuetta’s positional change means that Thiago Silva is once again back amongst the XI alongside the familiar faces of Rudiger and Christensen in the heart of the Chelsea backline.
