Chelsea are frontrunners in the race to sign Manchester City stalwart Sergio Aguero whose deal at the Etihad Stadium outfit comes to an end this summer after ten years of leading the frontline for them.
According to reports from TYC Sports, Aguero’s desire to stay in England and turn out in the Premier League is understood as a major reason behind Thomas Tuchel’s Blues tipped to land the 32-year-old’s signature ahead of the likes of FC Barcelona and Argentine outfit Boca Juniors.
Moreover, the Blues gaffer is on the lookout for additional reinforcements to replenish his frontline with Timo Werner enduring a dismal spell in front of the goal since signing for Chelsea last summer in a big-money move from German side RB Leipzig.
Tammy Abraham’s future at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer’s transfer window also remains highly uncertain as the England international struggles to claim a regular starting berth for Tuchel’s side and his recurring injury issues curtaining his time on the pitch.
Aguero is not the only No.9 option being courted by Chelsea as Borussia Dortmund’s highly-rated talisman Erling Haaland is also reported to be on the radar of Thomas Tuchel with the Norway forward eager to Signal Iduna Park ahead of the 2021-22 season.
