The Blues could be in line to pursue RB Salzburg talisman Patson Daka as Thomas Tuchel hopes to add to his attacking options in the summer transfer window.
Tuchel is understood to have preferred a move for Borussia Dortmund’s in-demand star Erling Haaland but with fierce competition amongst Europe’s elite to sign the Norwegian international, the Chelsea boss might shift his focus towards the 23-goal-getter Daka, according to reports from Express.
Daka was incidentally Haaland’s replacement at the Austrian outfit RB Salzburg following the latter sealing a transfer to Dortmund in the winter window of 2020.
With 40 goals to his name in just 51 outings, it seems as if the Zambia international, who has drawn comparisons to African great Samuel Eto’o and Liverpool talisman Sadio Mane, might be on the move to England with interest from Chelsea high in the 22-year-old striker.
Timo Werner’s dry spell upfront fails to end for the best and growing concerns over Tammy Abraham’s long-term future in the Chelsea colours could make for Daka to be a great addition to the Stamford Bridge camp.
