Miralem Pjanic looks increasingly likely to call it quits at FC Barcelona merely a summer into his mega move to the Catalan giants and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea are in line to land the midfielder’s signature.
Pjanic has struggled to adapt to new surroundings since leaving Juventus in the summer of 2020 where the Blues had failed in their attempts to lure the Bosnian international to Stamford Bridge as the player preferred a move to Camp Nou.
However, as the La Liga outfit plan to sign Liverpool FC’s Gini Wijnaldum, Pjanic is one name in the first-team ranks at FC Barcelona that would be shipped out to make space for Wijnaldum to join with his long-term chasers in the transfer market.
According to reports from football.london, both the club and the player are keen on reaching an agreement that would facilitate his departure this summer, putting the Blues on alert as Thomas Tuchel plans a major rebuild ahead of the 2021-22 season and uncertainty over Jorginho’s future.
With Ronald Koeman and FC Barcelona eager on parting ways with the 30-year-old Pjanic, Chelsea would not find it challenging to table a reasonable offer in front of the Spanish side and bring the ex-Roma man to west London.
