Chelsea’s expensive recruit, Kai Havertz is undoubtedly regretting to join Chelsea in this summer transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, says Sport BILD journalist, Raymond Hinko.
Hinko is of the opinion that the German sensation is playing boring just like the others present beside him in the Chelsea midfield. The German has been a total flop for Chelsea since he joined them and has shown no signs of creativity. He even thinks that making the transfer deal happen to attain chunks of money was the worst decision on his part.
The German winger has till now scored four goals for the Blues and out of them, he has scored a hattrick against Barnsley in the 6-0 Carabao Cup win in the initial phase of the season. Apart from that, he has played 20 matches and has shown signs of not getting adapted to the English League. Moreover, his health has disrupted the time again to shake his uneasiness in the new atmosphere.
“Kai Havertz, even if he doesn’t say it out loud, will have already cursed a hundred times that he moved from Leverkusen to the midfield bores of Chelsea, following the lure of money,” he wrote via Express.
“No celebrating Christmas, far away from his family, trapped on the island, not even strumming a few contemplative songs on his piano. Instead, watching from the draughty bench against bottom-of-the-table Arsenal in a 3-1 defeat. Then substituted for the last quarter of an hour. A kind of mercy killing. The maximum punishment for such a great talent,” he added.
Havertz was the marquee addition that the Blues had for a whopping £71 million transfer fees, in order to strengthen the attacking line upfront. But the attacking winger has failed to do so till now.
But the club staff and the manager ha backed the player, saying he can be a huge asset in the near future of the club as he is very young and has a lot of room to develop. But it seems like Havertz will not be opted by coach Lampard to feature against Manchester city in the new year.
