Lampard opens up on his relationship with Tottenham boss, Jose Mourinho

Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard considers Tottenham’ Jose Mourinho as good a manager as he has ever been till now. He shows respect and says that the recent touchline spats shouldn’t take the gratitude and respect he has over his former coach.

Mourinho has taken the responsibility as a coach of the struggling Tottenham side and put them on the top of the League table just two more points than that of Chelsea’s.

The ‘Special One’ has been successful in whichever clubs he has taken his duty but had a bit of struggle while managing Manchester United. There was a clash between Lampard and Mourinho when they met last September in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup defeat in penalties. Mourinho remarked that Lampard has used the tactic of Conte during the Italian’s reign at Stamford Bridge to defeat Spurs and he was aware of that.

“You don’t get a record as decorated as Jose Mourinho has as a manager without being a very talented coach,” Lampard said on Friday as per The Gaurdian reports.

“For all of us the game is so reactionary at the moment, particularly in the modern era, with social media reactions, that form will always be judged very harshly for any manager.”

This is coach Lampard’s second season at Chelsea and he has also won to the premier league’s under coach Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. He is of the opinion that despite these incidents, Mourinho is undoubtedly the greatest coach on the planet.

“I’ve got respect for Jose as a manager and I think that’s just how it is. I didn’t take any offense to the talk of Antonio Conte’s system or whatever. Jose can have his opinions and it’s not a problem,” he said.

“I’ve got respect for him and it’s nothing contentious for me. As a manager and as a player who was involved in a lot of those games. I can give him a huge thank you because nothing that we have achieved in the Roman Abramovich era could have happened without him and his support,” said Lampard.

“Whether you’re talking about firstly the financial input but also the development of the training ground, the love and time put into the academy and the trophies we’ve been able to win have all been made possible because of him.”

The match against Spurs at Stamford Bridge will be Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich’s 1000th game. It has been a long time since he has taken ownership of the club and made them to a title-contending team in the league.
