Chelsea is set to face Premier League leaders, Tottenham Hotspur whose manager is the former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho. The game will be played at the home stadium at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard has announced that his team is showing a great deal of confidence in the training before the high voltage game and his boys are ready to take three points from it.
He has given good news as well regarding the return of Chelsea’s most effective player of the last COVID -19 break and no doubt fans are too elated to get him back. He is none other than Chelsea’s No.10 of this season, Christian Pulsisic who will return after recovering from a hamstring injury.
‘Team news-wise, we are as we were really,’ said Lampard at his pre-match press conference as per the Official Chelsea website. ‘Christian Pulisic is back in contention for the game after working on his fitness.”
‘Whether Christian is ready to start is another question, as it is hard to gauge match fitness when you’ve only been training but he is ready and he is in contention.”
‘Kai Havertz played some minutes against Rennes the other day following his time out and it’s more just checking on his potential for match fitness, but overall we are in pretty good shape.’
In the pre-match press conference, Lampard said that not only he has returned to the squad list but also can play against the Spurs. Pulsiic has spent the entire initial games on the sidelines due to injury and once again this surprise hamstring problem has made him miss crucial matches.
Kai Havertz may also feature in the game versus Spurs after playing some minutes in the UCL group stage match against Rennes where the Blues won 2-1. Winning the match will make Chelsea go straight up to the summit of the Premier League table and Lampard must do that anyhow.
