Mason Mount always believed that he would make it to the first team at Chelsea

Mason Mount has gradually cemented his spot in Frank Lampard’s Chelsea and his consistency has made us forget that he is just 21 years of age. It is his first season in Chelsea’s first- team and some year back, it would have been an unthinkable thing to see an academy youngster making such performances for the Blues.

Any player would have been very elated to get a first-team of 50 appearances in his entire career but Mason Mount has featured already in 53 games so far – out of which 44 are his appearance from the beginning.

Chelsea fans are saying that Mount has made it to the team alongside Tammy Abraham and Reece James. He has also won the faith of coach Lampard and he has been one of his favourites to such an extent that even once fans were displeased for the coach’s favouritism shown towards him.

“My dad always had questions because there weren’t many young players coming through. JT [John Terry] was the only one who really came through and had an unbelievable career.

“I always believed that I would make it to the first team through hard work and determination and I didn’t let anybody get in the way of my focus, even my dad when he had questions. I said I [was] going to stay here and work as hard as I can. I [believed] totally that I [could] make it to the first team and then go all the way.”

“There are things we have to work on to get better but we are on the right path, we are driven to win trophies, to really step up our game. We have shown this season that we are capable of doing that,”said Mount via Goal reports.

Mason was very underrated and he expressed to the media about his dad questioning whether it will be safe to continue in the club. He said that his dad always would point at the lack of academy graduates in the Chelsea first team and only John Terry was the one who made it.

Now it’s on Mount himself- as to how he shapes his career at Stamford Bridge. The only thing he requires is consistency and form.
