Chelsea’s new summer signing fullback, Ben Chilwell is elated with the team’s two separate aspects after their impressive 3-0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor. He is of the opinion that the victory has revealed the all-round capabilities of the squad and the players at disposal.
Chilwell was a constant threat down the left-hand side against Burnley and Hakim Ziyech, Kurt Zouma, and Timo Werner were the scorers that made sure Chelsea travel home with three points.
The former Leicester left-back has quickly adapted with the west London club after this move to Stamford Bridge at a £45million deal in this summer transfer window. He was injured since the start of the campaign and as soon as he recovered, he has hit the ground running with his amazing form and fitness.
His performances and attitude both in the practice sessions and in games have been appreciated by coach, Frank Lampard.
Lampard’s side dominated the away game in both the halves and scored well-deserved goals. They even forced Burnley to not take a single shot on target and travelled home with their consecutive fourth clean sheet.
‘It was a perfect day for us in terms of performance and attitude,’ said Chilwell to Chelsea’s Official website.
‘It was a tough match. We knew that if we came not ready for a fight we could get bullied. That’s what they want, to make it difficult. But we came ready for the fight and also played our style of football, which is important, and we got another clean sheet and three good goals.
‘Everyone put a shift in. We looked clinical in front of goal and solid as a defensive unit again. We have a lot of good players, two or three in each position who are fighting for the shirt. That will help push us forward.’
The Blues’ coach believes that with more matches to come, Chilwell’s performance will get even better and that will benefit the club eventually.
