The debate of who is the best footballer is going on for ages and now there are two inhumane footballers who have carried the rivalry for being the best for more than 10 years. They are not looking to stop and the questions have been always in the air as to who is the ultimate Greatest Of All Time(GOAT).
There has been quite debating amongst the pundits and all of them have different answers. Even big players of club legends have spoken on this and many have different views on this topic.
Perhaps, the answers vary depending on the persuasion of the club persuasion definitely. Now, Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard who started his managerial career as a Chelsea coach last year has given his verdict on who is the best. During his footballing days at Stamford Bridge, Lampard has played against both of them and therefore he is well qualified to distinguish the merits between both the players.
During a sponsor Q&A, the Chelsea coach cited his reason too.
“I’m gonna go Messi on this on pure, natural talent. But what Ronaldo has done has been absolutely incredible,” he said as per the Daily Mail.
He said he preferred Messi due to his amazing talents but has admired Ronaldo due to his sheer hard work to be on the best for more than 10 years. Many a time his dedication has will-power has given a cutting edge to his rival and many times the natural tale of Messi seemed too difficult for him to cope up with.
He also picked up his best midfielder when asked and chose the Barcelona and Spanish duo, Xavi Hernandes and Andres Iniesta.
“The two that I name when I say against is Xavi and Iniesta at Barcelona,” he added.
“They were great players, they were kind of not the biggest and quite slight. It just shows it doesn’t matter, because sometimes people think you have to be huge to be a footballer player. You don’t.”
There will be millions to disagree and agree, however, it is his personal opinion and it should be respected.
