Chelsea vs Southampton Preview- Ziyech’s Competitive Debut | EPL-2020/21

Chelsea is up against Southampton on coming Saturday at their own stadium, Stamford Bridge. Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard will be looking to continue his previous match display against Crystal Palace where his team eased past with a 4-0 victory before going to the international break.

Southampton was one of the better sides in the Premier League towards the end of the previous season, so Chelsea must be aware that Ralph Hassenhuttl’s team can be quite tough to beat on their day. Altogether looking at the sides, the Blues must win the match if they play up to their standards and decrease their gap with the League leaders, Everton.

The match against Crystal palace saw new summer signing, Ben Chilwell rose up to the occasion to score a goal and provide an assist for the team in the second half. He is questionable for the Thursday match, so either of Emerson or Alonso can play if Chilwell is left out.

Senegal keeper, Edouard Mendy is recovering from a foot injury so he will miss the game. This is quite unpredictable that who will stand in the goal- Kepa or Willy Caballero.

But this match can see the first competitive debut of Hakim Ziyech. Along with the Moroccan attacker, Christian Pulisic is likely to start the match after a long time too.
