Chelsea’s new signing, Hakim Ziyech hasn’t made his competitive debut for Chelsea yet due to an injury he picked up on knee but he has been called to serve his international duties by joining the Morocco team ahead of friendly games against Senegal and DR Congo.
The 27-year-old former Ajax player picked up the knee injury in Chelsea’s only pre-season friendly game against Brighton and since then, he has been sidelined.
While most of the new faces have almost made their debuts, Ziyech was still recovering and had been training at Cobham for the last couple of weeks.
Chelsea coach didn’t take any risk by not naming him in the squad for the Crystal Palace game which the Blues won 4-0.
“Ziyech is getting closer but not close enough to be on the bench,” the coach said before the home game as per football.london news.
It is still unclear to many if Ziyech will feature for the national team or not in the friendlies. Although he has still travelled to join with his teammates that suggest some involvement.
This has frustrated the Chelsea fans and management too as he didn’t have any game time and proper match fitness.
The fans of Chelsea are desperately waiting to see the star attacker who was a key part of the strong Ajax squad that thrashed Real Madrid. Even the coach is keen to use him for the first time in the Premier League ever since he’s back in the training.
