4 players Thomas Tuchel will eye up during this summer’s Euros for Chelsea

The UEFA European Championships are going on in full flow and with a host of players dazzling spectators as a result of their terrific displays, such names are bound to court interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe with the summer transfer window also in full swing.

Chelsea are backed by many to use the window to bring in new faces and bolster the depth available at Thomas Tuchel’s disposal with the German now overseeing his first transfer window in charge of the west Londoners.

The Blues were crowned the Champions of Europe in an emphatic manner last season and expectations are huge of the Blues from their fanbase to emulate the recent success heading into the 2021-22 season as well which is something that will prompt the Chelsea boss Tuchel into eyeing some of the in-form names at the Euros.

Here are 4 such players we believe will be on Chelsea’s radar for the ongoing transfer window-

1. Manuel Locatelli

The Italian midfielder has been a hugely influential presence in the centre of the park for Roberto Mancini’s men who are now reckoned as one of the favourites to life the tournament.

Locatelli’s displays in the Italy midfield three has made him a potential target for both Chelsea and Manchester City this summer amid speculation that Sassuolo are willing to listen to offers for their player.

2. Leonardo Spinazzola

Another Italian who is bound to leave the Euros with a number of clubs on his tail is the Roma first-teamer Leonardo Spinazzola whose showings in the wing-back role for Mancini’s side has earned him plaudits from far and wide.

The Blues are believed to have made an enquiry into signing the former Juventus man as Tuchel remains on the hunt for full-back reinforcements with his side falling behind in the race to sign Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan.

3. Raphael Varane

The World Cup-winning star centre-back’s future at Real Madrid beyond this summer’s transfer window has been subject to much talk as of late with interest brewing in the Frenchman from a host of European heavyweights including Chelsea and Manchester United.

Varane’s performances over the years for both club and country has made him a standout defensive name in world football and with the player yet to agree upon extended terms with Madrid, the Blues will back themselves to land his signature should he choose to leave Spain ahead of the next season.

4. Alexander Isak

A relatively new transfer target for Chelsea this summer is the highly-promising Swede forward Alexander Isak who plays for La Liga outfit Real Sociedad and had scored 17 goals in league action last season.

Isak is yet to open his account at the Euros but his showings have made him a name to watch out for and has lured Thomas Tuchel into seeking his signature as a much cheaper alternative to the gaffer’s priority target Erling Haaland.
